A cover of a song by Jesse Colin Young performed originally by The Youngbloods circa 1969
rock dark acoustic guitar mellotron
Artist picture
Finger style and Acoustic Progressive guitar, flute, synth and Mellotron.
Welcome to the music of Carlo D'Anna's Ridiculous Dream music. Also known as "Dream Warrior" in some circles. Influences and music styles ranging from basic to progressive rock, with definite Retro seventies sound. If you enjoy the sound of Moody Blues, George Harrison, Genesis, Dead Can Dance, and others of the same style, more or less, you will probably like this music. I use quite a bit of Mellotron and acoustic fingerstyle guitar as well.

Lyrics
Darkness Darkness be my pillow ,Take my hand And let me sleep In the coolness of your shadow In the silence of your deep Darkness, Darkness Be my pillow Darkness, DarknessHide my yearning For the things I cannot be Keep my mind from constant turning Toward the things I cannot see now Things I cannot see nowThings I cannot see Darkness, darkness Long and lonesome Ease the day that brings me pain I have felt the edge of sadness I have known the depth of fear Darkness, darkness, be my blanket Cover me with the endless night Take away, take away the pain of knowing Fill the emptiness of right now Emptiness of right now, now, now Emptiness of ri-ight now

As always you are able to create a very special, unique sound. This one reminds me of the Moody Blues and early Pink FLoyd, but it is most of all a brilliant example of what come from your hand. Great and unique on all levels!

Hey Braaah, I'll echo what Greg said and add that this was an old fave of mine and you've done a fantastic rendition of it here. Not enough stars to give but top shelf all the way!

Wow, this is EPIC in every way, intro is so beautiful (your guitar playing is ace!) and builds just so right - vocals are perfect and I’m getting Nick Cave and H&C vibes with your arrangement and playing. Carlo, this is a masterful piece of work mate! 10/10!
