Welcome everybody ! bluesbox is proud to announce the beginning of a very interesting collaboration with the great guitarist Davide Devoti. Davide comes from a family of musicians and brought his success everywhere in the world. Originally he started out as a rhytm and lead guitarist in punk-rock bands, but his career swings from classic-rock & hard-rock to funk, jazz, soul, pop and (not least) blues. He is a very complete musician and a dear friend. I met Davide at the house of a common friend, probably 25 years ago, when he was not famous yet. I lost tracks of him when he left Italy to join the band RAW POWER and toured the world wiht them. In RAW POWER Davide recorded two LPs ("Screams From The Gutter" & "Mine To Kill") and one EP ("Whop Power") and his sales reached up to over 100.000 copies. In the RAW POWER US tour he played with GUNS'N'ROSES & SLAYER. He toured also through Europe, Canada & Mexico. Back to Italy in 1989, he joined the band of Vasco Rossi, probably the most influent and successful Italian rockstar. With Vasco Rossi, Davide recorded a double live album, titled "Fronte del Palco" (i.e. "Stage's Edge"). His career moved on TV, where Davide played with YOUSSOUR'N DOUR, ELVIS COSTELLO, NIRVANA, ZZ TOP & WILLY DEVILLE. Now he lives in Novara, where he teaches guitar and works as an author, songwriter & session musicians for many recording studios everywhere in the Country. --------------------------------------------------------------- The first time Davide came at the bluesbox studios was October 2007. I was immediately striken by his guitar when we started to jam together. I listened to the drafts of his originals, finding them awesome. Later on, when Davide came back at bluesbox's, we decided to put down some tracks and eventually an entire album. Davide's music has no conventional bareers and is suitable to all tastes. I believe he is the most true, powerful, suggestive and creative artist I ever happened to come across. I am honored to guest his works here, in the bluesbox pages, and I hope I can handle is talent and give justice to his bright ideas. It is very challenging and exciting !
